El Edicto del Bierzo. Augusto y el Noroeste de Hispania (The Bierzo Edict. Augustus and North-west Hispania) F.-Javier Sánchez-Palencia, Julio Mangas (coordinators) Ponferrada, 2000.
Towards the end of 1999 a discovery was made in El Bierzo, between Bembibre and Castropodame of a bronze table that contained an edict issued by Augustus in 15 AD. This contains one of the measures taken by the emperor with regard to the recently conquered peoples. This is, therefore, an exceptional document for illustrating the mechanisms of the Roman administration and the changes to which the population were subject following the conquest. This book brings together various works on this document to provide an overall view of this historic process.

To get an idea of the historic implications of the changes brought about by mining activity in Las Médulas one needs to know about the territory's occupation and exploitation during the pre-Roman era. That is why this second publication is dedicated entirely to El Castrelín de San Juan de Paluezas, an Astur hillfort located in the vicinity of the Roman mine and abandoned shortly after the mine started working.

Nº 4. La epigrafía de Las Médulas (Las Médulas Epigraphy) Inés Sastre Ponferrada, 2004
The book is aimed to the study of one of the most interesting aspects of the research done at Las Médulas, the transformations of these territories after the Roman Conquest: their integration in the Roman Empire, the impact on the pre-Roman communities and the forms of the social complexity developed. The study of the inscriptions of El Bierzo and, more specifically, of Las medullas, is one of the main elements for an integral analysis of the cultural landscape of Las medullas and, as Inés Sastre ’s work shows, it allows a global approach to the Roman society in the high Empire.
